During the open specials session beginning at 3:35 p.m.

the council will hear an appeal from a group of citizens interested in returning animal control in the city to the jurisdiction of the Sioux City Humane Society. During its regular meeting at 4 p.m. the council will consider: Bids for the westside storm sewer, phases II and III, from approximately W. Highland Ave. and John Street to W.

Fourth and Casselman streets and the westside sanitary sewer, phase II, from West Street and W. Highland Avenue to W. Fourth and Casselman streets. Bids for the dredging of the marina boat harbor. An ordinance permitting the adoption of an amended site plan for the Transit Avenue Shopping Center for the addition of a sign at the Sirloin Stockade.

A resolution authorizing an application for a visual arts grant with the National Endowment for the Arts for the purchase of three permanent works of art on the new downtown mall. A resolution setting May 5 as the hearing date on a contract for the removal of 1,532 dead elm trees in the city. The reappointment of William MacFarlane and Bruce Kolbe to five- year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission and the appointment of James Enright to a five-year Volleyball Marathon Raises $440 for MS 150 Briar Cliff College any player. He was on the court who participated in for 43 hours. the 48-hour volleyball marathon over the weekend in the college gymnasium, raised $440 for the Northwest Iowa Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through their efforts.

In the long game the M.D. team, headed by DePhillips of Des Moines, defeated the B.B. team, headed by Bob Bjerke of Fort Dodge, Iowa, by a score of DePhillips and Bjerke worked with the Volunteer Bureau in making arrangements for the event. The participants signed up to play portions of the 48-hour period and during breaks in the action tried to get pledges for hours played by phoning possible sponsors. Topic of this evening's meeting will be social services programs for the aging. The Department of Social Services is conducting the meetings. Public input is being sought to develop the state plan which will qualify the state to receive federal funding under an amendment to the Social Security Act. Mr. Wolfe was born on Aug. 10, 1910 at Mapleton, Iowa. He was married to Clare Breyfogle on July 5, 1933, at Sutherland, Iowa. He was self-employed as a painter and was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Rodney of Buena Park, and Wesley of Omaha; a daughter, Mrs. Ward (Judy) Bosburgh of Moville, Iowa; a brother, Earl of Hammond, seven sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Shaver of Mapleton, Mrs. Laura Zeimer of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. Zoe Carlson of Alta, Iowa, Mrs.

Betsy Clark of Springfield, Mrs. Mayme Lewis of Santa Maria, and Mrs. Vera Cox and Mrs. Sophie Russell, both of Cherokee, Iowa, and 10 grandchildren. Memorials have been established in Mr.

Wolfe's name with the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association. The Rutledge-Gulsrud Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Leon A. Wolfe Harry Griesel Harry Griesel, 64, 15 W. 14th was dead on arrival at a Sioux City hospital Sunday evening after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

He was born Feb. 7, 1911, in Belden, Neb. He had farmed in the Belden area for 11 years before moving to Sioux City in 1949. He had been employed at Braunger Produce for eight years, and had owned and operated the Eleventh Street Lunch in the Argonaut Apartment building from 1965 until his retirement in 1973. He was married to Loretta E.

Leffelman May 7, 1938, at Coleridge, Neb. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Charles of Roslyn, and Edward, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Harriet) Fugier of Monroe, Mrs.

Phyllis Hansen of Pasadena, and Miss Jean at home; two brothers, Arthur of Belden, and William of Laurel, two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Spike of Laurel, and Mrs. Percy (Katherine) Shannon of Santa Ana, and five grandchildren. Meyer Bros. Colonial Chapel has charge of arrangements.

David Lelchook David Lelchook, 67, 1123 26th who had been a presser at Morey's for 35 years, died Saturday night at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the United Orthodox Synagogue with Rabbi S. Bolotnikov officiating. Burial in the Independent Farane Cemetery will be under the direction of the RutledgeGulsrud Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Mort Smith, Max Rozen, Burton and Robert Lipshutz, David Levitsky and Gordon Lebowich. Mr. Lelchook was born on Jan. 7, 1908, in Russia, and he came to the United States and Sioux City in 1921. He was married to Lillian Rivin on April 7, 1940 in Sioux City.

He was a member of the United Orthodox Synagogue and the Independent Farane. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Jerry of Silver Springs, and Fred of Dubuque, Iowa; two brothers, Abe Lelchook of Omaha and Morris Lelch of Dallas, and two grandchildren. Mrs. Emil Sweum Mrs. Emil Sweum, 90, a resident of the Westwood Convalescent and Rest Home, died Sunday morning at the home after a long illness.

Mrs. Sweum, the former Inga Marie Knutson, was born Sept. 9, 1884, at Soldier, Iowa. She had lived in Sioux City since 1905. She was married to Mr.

Sweum April 4, 1907, in Sioux City. He died Nov. 7, 1970. She was a charter member of Morningside Lutheran Church, and a member of the Martha Circle of the church. Survivors include a son, Eugene A.

of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Irene Hickey of Sioux City; a brother, Chris Knutson of Ute, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. C. 0. Anderson of Sioux City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Morningside Lutheran Church. The Rev. Boral Biorn will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Morningside.

Pallbearers, all nephews, will be Bill and Vernon Knutson, and Amos, Gene, Howard and Warren Anderson. A memorial has been established in Mrs. Sweum's name for the Morningside Lutheran Church.
